Hangul is one of the few alphabets that have been artificially created and have not evolved from hieroglyphics or ideograms, as has been the case with most modern writings. Words in this alphabet can be written horizontally or vertically, e.g.: 사자 (lion) and 봄 (spring).

The Korean hangul is considered to be the easiest magazine in the world. It is one of the only alphabets that have not evolved from hieroglyphics or ideograms.

A chronogram is a sentence or inscription in which specific letters, interpreted as numerals, stand for a particular date when rearranged. In the pure chronogram each word contains a numeral; the natural chronogram shows all numerals in the correct numerical order, e.g. AMORE MATVRITAS = MMVI = 2006.

The Polish alphabet includes 32 letters, 9 of them are typically Polish. There are: ą (nasal o as Own), ć (piTS, alveolo-palatal), ę (nasal e), ł (Will), ń (caNYon, alveolo-palatal), ó (bOOt), ś (SHeep, alveolo-palatal), ź (viSIon, alveolo-palatal) and ż (viSIon).

The Polish native words don't include letters Q, V and X. From above only letter Y (read: short i as in bit) belongs to the Polish alphabet.

Lorm is a hand-touch alphabet developed in the 19th century by Deafblind inventor and novelist Hieronymus Lorm and used in some countries in Europe.

Sigma is a commonly used symbol of addition.

Braille characters have rectangular blocks called cells that have tiny bumps called raised dots. A full Braille cell includes six raised dots arranged in two columns, each having three dots. There are 64 different combinations possible (2 to sixth power) and all are used except the "blank" one - for letters, numbers, diacritical marks and mathematical symbols.

The Devanagari script is used for over 120 languages, making it one of the most used and adopted writing systems in the world. Among the languages using it are: Hindi, Marathi, Nepali, Pali and Sanskrit.
