Futurama is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening. Bender is a foul-mouthed, heavy-drinking, cigar-smoking, kleptomaniacal, misanthropic, egocentric, ill-tempered robot manufactured by Mom's Friendly Robot Company. He is originally programmed to bend girders for suicide booths, and is later designated as assistant sales manager and cook, despite lacking a sense of taste.

The Academy Award for Best Animated Feature was first awarded in 2002 for films made in 2001. Shrek was the first one to win it.

Matt Groening, author of "the Simpsons" named his characters after members of his family. According to him, "Homer originated with my goal to both amuse my real father, and just annoy him a little bit."

Betty Boop is an animated cartoon character created by Max Fleischer in 1930. She is regarded as one of the first and most famous sex symbols on the animated screen. Since 1934, several restrictions imposed by the National Legion of Decency greatly affected the Betty Boop cartoons. She started to wear a fuller dress and stopped winking at the viewer, leading to the decline of the series.
