The red-shanked douc (Pygathrix nemaeus) is a species of Old World monkey, among the most colourful of all primates. The douc is an arboreal and diurnal monkey that eats and sleeps in the trees of the forest.The doucs are, like all monkeys, social animals. They live in groups with an average size of 4 to 15, but groups of up to 50 have been recorded.

Madame Berthe's mouse lemur (Microcebus berthae) or Berthe's mouse lemur is the smallest of the smallest primate in the world; the average body length is 9.2 cm (3.6 in) and seasonal weight is around 30 g (1.1 oz). Microcebus berthae is one of many species of Malagasy lemurs that came about through extensive speciation, caused by unknown environmental mechanisms and conditions.

The red-handed tamarin, also known as the golden-handed tamarin or Midas tamarin, is a New World monkey named for the contrasting reddish-orange hair on its feet and hands. It is native to wooded areas north of the Amazon River. It is an exceptional climber, and a superb jumper known to jump distances of over 18 m from a tree to the ground with no sign of injury.

De Brazza's monkey occurs in rainforests of Africa from Cameroon to Angola and Uganda. Thanks to a bright headband and white beard, this species is easily recognizable.

"Rh" stands for "Rhesus". Due to its relatively easy upkeep in captivity and anatomical closeness to humans, rhesuses have been used extensively in medical research.
