“Camera” means “chamber” and “room” in Latin. Camera obscura was an optical device used in drawing, and an ancestor of modern photography. This is a source of the modern word camera.

Higher ISO settings allow shorter shutter speeds, which is often desirable as it reduces photo blur caused by camera movement. However, higher ISO also means more noise.

Federico García was a Spanish Republican and anarchist militiaman during the Spanish Civil War, commonly thought to be the subject in the famous Robert Capa photo The Falling Soldier (September 5, 1936). Picture Post, a pioneering photojournalism magazine published in the United Kingdom, had once described then twenty-five year old Capa as "the greatest war photographer in the world."

The photograph portraying the bust of a thirty-one-year-old Che Guevara was taken by Cuban photographer Alberto Korda. The image, which became an unofficial international symbol for revolution, was taken at a rather somber gathering. On 5th March 1960, a memorial service was held in honor of the victims of the La Coubre explosions in Havana, Cuba. The photographer later said that he was drawn to Che’s magnetic persona and above all, his facial expression. He later said that the revolutionary’s face reflected grief and anger and showed “absolute implacability.”

These images were assembled from data acquired over nine days in April 2012 and 13 days in October 2012. This means fires and other lighting (such as ships) could have been detected on any one day and integrated into the composite picture, despite being temporary phenomena - giving the appearance of a massive blaze.

In the outer space there is no air that could absorb the heat of the camera.

Macro photography may be accomplished by mounting a lens in reverse, in front of a normally mounted lens of greater focal length. This method allows most cameras to maintain the full function of electronic and mechanical communication with the normally mounted lens, for features such as open-aperture metering.

This is anaglyph 3D, an image which contains two differently filtered colored images, one for each eye. Red/Cyan channels are the most common, but Magenta/Green and Blue/Yellow are also popular.

The iris plays no role in the effect, but the blue-eyed people have relatively low melanin in the fundus as well. Therefore, they show a much stronger red-eye effect, as the light passing fundus is not absorbed by melanin. The role of melanin in red-eye effect is nicely demonstrated in case of heterochromia (one eye blue, one brown): typically, only the blue eye displays the effect.
