A golf course is the grounds where the game of golf is played. It comprises a series of holes, each consisting of a teeing ground, a fairway, the rough and other hazards, and a green with a flagstick ("pin") and hole ("cup"). A standard round of golf consists of 18 holes.

Pole golfowe – obszar o powierzchni od kilkunastu do kilkudziesięciu hektarów, porośnięty przystrzyżoną trawą o różnej wysokości, służący do gry w golfa wedle obowiązujących w niej zasad. Znajduje się na nim 9 (pole małe) lub 18 (pole pełnowymiarowe) kolejno ponumerowanych i odpowiednio rozmieszczonych dołków.

Ein Golfplatz ist ein Areal, auf dem Golf gespielt wird. Eine komplette Golfrunde wird regulär über 18 Löcher, also z.B. 3 × 6 oder 2 × 9 Loch, gespielt. Es gibt also Plätze mit 6, 9, 18, 27, 36 Spielbahnen, wobei die weitaus häufigste Form die mit 18 Löchern ist.
