How deep is the Singapore Strait?
2,5 m (8,2 ft)
25 m (82 ft)
250 m (820 ft)
2500 m (8200 ft)
The depth of the Singapore Strait defines the maximum draft of vessels going through the Straits of Malacca, and the Malaccamax ship class. Bulk carriers and supertankers have been built to this size, so they can transport oil from Arabia to China. Similar terms of Panamax and Suezmax are used for the largest ships capable of fitting through the Panama Canal and the Suez Canal.
