What is the name of this bird?
The photo shows a male red-breasted flycatcher (Ficedula parva). It is found mainly in eastern Europe. It is often confused with the european robin from which it differs in that the red of the breast does not reach the eye and is fuzzy on it, and the edges of the tail are white. A typically diurnal bird, it is hard to spot, as it leads a secretive lifestyle, usually in the treetops, feeding on insects, sometimes on plants, such as elderberry fruit.
