Pardo
"Pardo" po portugalsku oznacza ryż. Tradycyjnie zbierany przez Indian Ameryki Łacińskiej ryż to ostruda wodna, mająca brązowe nasiona. Nazwa ta została więc nadana ludności mieszanej rasowo na zasadzie skojarzenia – większość Pardo ma bowiem brązową karnację. Pardo o jasnej karnacji (cecha rasy białej) może mieć indiańskie rysy twarzy i mocno kręcone włosy (cecha rasy czarnej).
