What science is the IUPAC organization affiliated with?

The IUPAC is the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry. It is an international scientific organization, not affiliated with any government. Since its creation in 1919, IUPAC has been run by many different committees with different responsibilities. These committees run different projects which include standardizing nomenclature, finding ways to bring chemistry to the world, and publishing works. Nearly 1200 chemists are involved in IUPAC projects.
