Known from cave paintings jallikattu seems like a cross of rodeo and Basque San Fermin bull run. Men attempt to hold zebu bull around their hump either to knock it down or stand long enough to win. It's a Tamil traditional custom of South India, that was banned on the basis of animal cruelty.
