Betty Boop is an animated cartoon character created by Max Fleischer in 1930. She is regarded as one of the first and most famous sex symbols on the animated screen. Since 1934, several restrictions imposed by the National Legion of Decency greatly affected the Betty Boop cartoons. She started to wear a fuller dress and stopped winking at the viewer, leading to the decline of the series.
