St. Augustine is a city in the Southeastern United States, on the Atlantic coast of northeastern Florida. Founded in 1565 by Spanish explorers, it is the oldest continuously inhabited European-established settlement within the borders of the continental United States. Spain ceded Florida to the United States in 1819, and St. Augustine was designated the capital of the Florida Territory.

Miasto, w dniu świętego Augustyna z Hippony tj. 28 sierpnia 1565, założył hiszpański admirał Pedro Menéndez de Avilés. Obecnie St. Augustine posiada ok. 12 tysięcy mieszkańców. W mieście można zwiedzić najstarszy dom w Ameryce oraz najstarszą drewnianą szkołę. Przez 235 lat była to polityczna i militarna stolica hiszpańskiej prowincji Floryda.
