Zipporah or Tzipora is mentioned in the Book of Exodus as the wife of Moses, and the daughter of Reuel/Jethro, the priest or prince of Midian. In the Book of Chronicles, two of her descendants are mentioned: Shebuel, son of Gershom, and Rehabiah, son of Eliezer. Moses was allowed to wed Zipporah, the daughter of Jethro, after helping save his daughters and their flock from competing herdsmen.

Sefora (pol. „ptak”, „ptaszyna”) to postać biblijna z Księgi Wyjścia, żona Mojżesza. Była córką madianickiego kapłana Jetry. Po objawieniu się Boga Mojżeszowi Sefora za zgodą ojca udała się wraz z mężem do Egiptu. Gdy podczas podróży Bóg próbował zabić Mojżesza, Sefora wzięła kamienny nóż i obcięła napletek swojego syna. Wówczas Bóg odstąpił od Mojżesza. Jest to jedyna scena w Biblii, gdy to kobieta dokonuje obrzezania.
