The first Grand Lodge was established on June 24, 1717, on the initiative of John Theophilus Desaguliers and James Anderson, through the unification of four smaller lodges. This day is currently the greatest celebration of Freemasonry. Freemasonry became very popular in colonial America.

Pierwsza Wielka Loża powstała dnia 24 czerwca 1717 roku w londyńskiej gospodzie ''Pod Jabłonią'' z inicjatywy Johna Theophilusa Desaguliersa i Jamesa Andersona poprzez unifikację czterech mniejszych lóż. Ten dzień jest obecnie największym świętem wolnomularstwa.
