Where do jackals live?
in North America
in South America
in Africa and Asia
in Australia
There are three jackal species: black-backed jackal and side-striped jackal of sub-Saharan Africa, and the golden jackal of northern Africa and south-central Eurasia, from Greece to Thailand. Modern research has revealed that golden jackal is more closely related to coyote and grey wolf, than to other jackal species, so naming all three species a "jackal" is in fact a mistake.
