Metallica is the first band to play on all seven continents . . . and they did it all in one calendar year. In 2013 they played in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and a special concert for some scientists in Antarctica.

8 grudnia 2013 roku Metallica zagrała przeszło godzinny koncert na Antarktydzie, zatytułowany "Freez 'Em All" Dzięki temu koncertowi Metallice udało się dokonać nie lada wyczynu: w 2013 roku zagrała na wszystkich kontynentach świata. Osiągnięcie zostało docenione w 60. wydaniu Księgi rekordów Guinnessa.

In 8.12.2013 die Heavy-Metal-Band Metallica hat ein stilles Rockkonzert in der Antarktis gegeben. Um die Umwelt nicht zu belasten, lauschten wenige ausgewählte Fans dem Konzert über Kopfhörer. Das Konzert fand in der Nähe eines Gletschers statt, unter einer transparenten Kuppel der argentinischen Forschungsstation Carlini.
