Sphynx. In general, Sphynx cats should never be allowed outdoors unattended. They have limited means to conserve body heat when it is cold, and during sunny days they can develop sunburn and skin damage similar to that of humans.

Munchkin. The Munchkin is a relatively new breed of cat characterized by its very short legs, which are caused by a genetic mutation.

LaPerm. The LaPerm is a rex breed which originated in the United States and is now present in many other countries worldwide. The breed is genetically unique and not related to any other rex cat varieties, having a dominant gene causing their curly coats.

Siamese. According to the Cat Fanciers' Association, the Siamese cat is the most popular of the 24 short-haired cat breeds.

Persian. The Persian is the most popular breed of pedigree cats in the United States. In Europe, however, it is losing its past popularity. In the UK, the Persian lost its top spot to the British Shorthair in 2001. As of 2012, it was the 6th most popular breed, behind the British Shorthair, Ragdoll, Siamese, Maine Coon and Burmese.

Pallas's cat. The Pallas's cat (Otocolobus manul), also called the Manul, is a small wild cat with a broad but fragmented distribution in the grasslands and montane steppes of Central Asia. The Pallas's cat was named after the German naturalist Peter Simon Pallas, who first described the cat in 1776 under the binomial Felis manu

Nebelung. The Nebelung is a rare breed of domestic cat. Nebelungs have long bodies, wide-set green eyes, long and dense fur, and mild dispositions. The name Nebelung — apparently a portmanteau of the German word Nebel ('mist' or 'fog')

Lykoi. The Lykoi is a natural mutation from a domestic short-haired cat developed in Tennessee. The word lykoi means "wolves" in Greek. It is a partially or almost entirely hairless cat. It sheds a lot when older, but regrows its hair later in life depending on the season. The missing coat of the Lykoi's face gives the breed a werewolfish appearance.

Korat. The Korat is known colloquially as the "good luck cat". Traditionally, they are given in pairs to newlyweds or people who are highly esteemed, for good luck. Until recently, Korats were not sold, but only given as gifts. The Korat breed comes from Thailand.

Havana Brown. In the early 1950s a group of English cat fanciers began working together with an intent to create a self brown cat of Foreign Type. They called themselves "The Havana Group", later to become "The Chestnut Brown Group". This group of breeders created the foundation of the Havana Brown cat of today.
