The most difficult gold riddles

The TauTona Mine is a gold mine in South Africa. At approximately 3.9 kilometers deep, it is home to the world's deepest mining operations, rivalled only by the Mponeng gold mine. The name TauTona means "great lion" in the Setswana language.

Escudo, ducat and florin had similar weight of approx 3.5 g of pure gold. Doubloon was simply double-escudo, weighting 6.77 grams. This Spanish coin was also widely used in France, named pistole.

The largest nugget was found in Australia in 1872. It weighed 7555.42 Oz (235 kg) and was 1.42 m long.
