Soviet historians portrayed Nicholas as a weak and incompetent leader whose decisions led to military defeats and the deaths of millions of his subjects.

Dom Pedro II (1825 – 1891), nicknamed "the Magnanimous", was the second and last monarch of the Empire of Brazil, reigning for over 58 years. He was born in Rio de Janeiro, the seventh child of Emperor Dom Pedro I of Brazil and Empress Dona Maria Leopoldina. Pedro II steadfastly pushed through the abolition of slavery despite opposition from powerful political and economic interests

The title Tsar in Slavic languages is derived from the Latin title of the Roman emperors, Caesar. It was first used in Bulgaria from 10th to 15th century, and in Serbia (in the 14th century). Later, it was used in Russia - Ivan IV was the first to use it in 1547.
