Vampires questions

Vampires are fantastic creatures that first appeared in the Slavic mythology. Vampire were imagined as undead that fed on human blood.

Vampire bats hunt during nights, seeking for sleeping animals. It doesn't land directly on a host, but instead lands nearby and approaches it on the ground. They make a small cut using razor sharp teeth and slowly lick the blood. A single feeding can last for 20 minutes.

There are three bat species that feed solely on blood, and all are native to the New World, ranging from Mexico to Argentina.

Transylvania is often associated with vampires due to Bram Stoker's novel Dracula and its film adaptations. Some aspects of Count Dracula fictional character have been inspired by the 15th century prince Vlad III the Impaler.
