Privacy Policy

This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their 'Personally identifiable information' (PII) is being used online. PII, as used in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our website.
It is not our intention to be able to identify our users. In fact, we even prefer users to use our service anonymously (by using account names and email addresses which do not correspond to user's real identity). However, we are often able to know user's identity - for example when he registers to our service via his Facebook or Google account. Therefore, we need to explain what user's data is used and how it is used - and also, how it will not be used.

What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our website?

We collect user's account name (which may correspond to his real name, although it is not required), his e-mail address, country, and the answers submitted by him to quiz questions. Additionally, we collect information about user's gender, age and city, only if provided by user.

Why do we collect information?

Statistics

Personal data such as country, city, age and gender is used to create various answer-based statistics (ex. best country in a given quiz category; male/female correctness ratio etc). These statistics are presented in the service in order to enrich user experience. All computed and presented statistics are non personally-identifiable, with the exception of 'user knowledge profile' explained below.

User profile

The quiz answers given by the user are used to generate his 'user knowledge profile. The sole purpose of 'user knowledge profile' is the presentation of user's achivements in the game. The 'user knowledge profile' is not used for any other purposes and it is not disclosed to any third parties.

The "user knowledge profile" is by default kept confidential and presented to its owner only. User may decide to publish his knowledge profile openly if he selects such option in his 'account settings'.

When do we collect information?

When registering on our site, you may be asked to enter your account name ane e-mail address. The account name is not required to correspond to your identity by any means. Additionally, you will be asked to enter non-mandatory information about you country, gender and year of birth.

When registering on our site through Facebook or Google, the information about your name, country, city and gender is automatically retrieved from your Facebook/Google account, if available - after getting your consent through Google/Facebook sign in mechanism.

During the quiz game, we collect the answers you give to quiz questions.

We also collect country information for statistical purposes any time you access the site, even if you do not register at the site.

Do we use 'cookies'?

Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site's or service provider's systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. We use cookies to remember your login session in case of logged in users; and we use cookies to remember your country and city in case of all users. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. We may also use trusted third party services like Google Analytics that track this information on our behalf.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser (like Internet Explorer) settings. • Our Privacy Policy link includes the word 'Privacy', and can be easily be found on the page specified above.
  • Users will be notified of any privacy policy changes on our Privacy Policy Page
