Sweet pea is a flowering plant native to Sicily, Cyprus, southern Italy and the Aegean Islands. Sweet peas have been cultivated for their flower colour and intense, unique fragrance since the 17th century. They are also grown by gardeners for private enjoyment or for exhibition, and in the Floristry trade.
