Duce (meaning leader) is an Italian title, derived from the Latin word dux, and cognate with duke. Because of modern anti-fascist sentiment, Italian speakers in general now use other words for leader, mainly including the English loanword. The same happened in Germany with "fuhrer".

Duce to włoskie słowo oznaczające przywódcę. Po wojnie jednak wyszło z użycia, podobnie jak słowo fuhrer w Niemczech.

Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini (*1883†1945) war ein italienischer Politiker. Er war von 1922 bis 1943 Ministerpräsident des Königreiches Italien. Als Duce del Fascismo („Führer des Faschismus“) und Capo del Governo („Chef der Regierung“) stand er ab 1925 als Diktator an der Spitze des faschistischen Regimes in Italien.
