The prestigious rank of field marshal had been banned after the First World War. As part of German re-armament, the rank was revived. On 19 July 1940, in a single ceremony, Hitler appointed twelve field marshals due to military achievements, including Walther von Brauchitsch, Fedor von Bock, Albert Kesselring, Wilhelm Keitel, Günther von Kluge, Gerd von Rundstedt and others.

Heinrich Himmler was one of the most powerful men in Nazi Germany and the main architect of the Holocaust. Late in World War II, Hitler dismissed him from all his posts and ordered his arrest for his attempt to open peace talks with the Allies. He tried to go into hiding, but was detained and arrested by British forces. While in custody, he committed suicide by taking a cyanide pill.

Eva Braun was the longtime companion of Adolf Hitler and, for less than 40 hours, his wife. As Nazi Germany was collapsing towards the end of the war, Braun swore loyalty to Hitler and went to Berlin to be by his side in the heavily reinforced Führerbunker beneath the Reich Chancellery. On 29 April 1945, she married Hitler during a brief civil ceremony; she was 33 and he was 56. Less than 40 hours later, they committed suicide together.

Karl Dönitz was the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy and briefly succeeded Adolf Hitler as the head of state of Germany. At the Nuremberg trials, he was convicted of war crimes and sentenced to ten years' imprisonment. After his release, he lived quietly in a village near Hamburg until his death of a heart attack in 1980.

10 out of 12 people sentenced to death were hanged on October 16, 1946. Martin Bormann was sentenced in absentia with his remains found in Berlin in 1972 and eventually dated to 2 May 1945. Hermann Göring committed suicide the night before his execution.

Rudolf Höss was the longest-serving commandant of Auschwitz, where more than a million people were killed before the defeat of Germany. He tested and carried into effect the Final Solution plan. He was hanged in 1947 following a trial in Warsaw.

Wagner's music was assimilated with the german domination ethos. The main reason for that is fact that the Third Reich propaganda officially approved it and Hitler himself was a big Wagner fan.

Karl Dönitz was the last president of the Third Reich and Commander-in-Chief of the German Navy. He authorized Alfred Jodl to sign the act of unconditional surrender that ended World War II in Europe.

Jaguar was founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company in 1922, originally making motorcycle sidecars. In 1945 the company changed its name to Jaguar Cars Ltd, because of the connotations of the use of the SS name by Nazi Germany.

In the 1930s, Hugo Boss advertising slogan was a "supplier for National Socialist uniforms since 1924". To meet demand in later years of the war, Boss used about 40 prisoners of war and about 150 forced laborers. In 1946, Hugo Boss was fined a heavy penalty as an activist and beneficiary of National Socialism but his business survived. In 1997, the company appeared in a list of Swiss dormant accounts.
