A whistle language is taught at schools in:
Turkey
Mexico
Alaska
Canary Islands
Whistle languages were used in each of these places. However, only el silbo gomero - a disappearing whistle language of one of the Canary Islands - has been taught at their schools since 1999 to protect it from extinction.
