Foo Fighters is a well known rock band. What does "Foo Fighters" mean?

The group took its name from the unidentified aerial phenomena that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, which were known collectively as foo fighters (the term "UFO" was not used yet). Witnesses often assumed that the foo fighters were secret weapons employed by the enemy.
