Woodpecker's tongue is extremely long- it measures about 4 inches. Thanks to that bird can reach deep to get maggots. Interesting issue is also hiding such a long tongue- it can be slided into a special chamfer apparatus and wraped around the skull from behind, reaching up to the top of nasal cavity.
