Kije golfowe dzielą się na 4 wymienione rodzaje. Putter (popychacz) to specjalny kij do uderzeń na greenie, po których piłka się toczy i ostatecznie wpada do dołka. W torbie gracza może znajdować się maksymalnie 14 kijów. Kije składają się z główki (head), którą uderza się w piłkę, pręta łączącego (shaft) oraz rączki (grip). Różnią się długością, wagą, kształtem główki i nachyleniem lica, które decyduje o torze lotu piłki.
