Radegast is a Czech beer brewed in Nošovice, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic since 1970, as well as in Šariš Brewery (Slovak: Pivovar Šariš), the largest brewery in Slovakia, located in Veľký Šariš. The beer is named after the Slavic, Moravian-prominent god Radegast. His sacred, temple animal was the horse, In 1068 Burchard, the Bishop of Halberstadt, invaded the country of the Slavic Lutici tribes. His forces razed the pagan temple, and the bishop returned to Saxony riding the sacred black horse.
