A 1966 Volvo 1800S and its owner Irv Gordon of New York have the Guinness world record for highest mileage. In 1998 it was registered as the vehicle with the highest certified mileage driven by the original owner in non-commercial service, by the Guinness Records, with a total of 1.69 million miles. When Gordon died on 2018, the car had driven more than 3.2 million miles.
