A typical flamenco dancer's outfit is a wide fluttering dress or skirt. Flamenco is danced solo. In flamenco, body movements and gestures express certain emotional states of the dancer or underline the meaning of words and the character of the melody that accompanies them.

Ṭāriq ibn Ziyād was a Umayyad commander who led the Muslim conquest of Visigothic Hispania in 711–718 A.D. Under the orders of the Umayyad Caliph Al-Walid I he led a large army and crossed the Strait of Gibraltar from the North African coast, consolidating his troops at what is today known as the Rock of Gibraltar. The name "Gibraltar" is the Spanish derivation of the Arabic name Jabal Ṭāriq, meaning "mountain of Ṭāriq", which is named after him.

Francisco Pizarro González was a Spanish conquistador who led the Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire. He captured and killed Incan emperor Atahualpa, and claimed the lands for Spain.

Chupa Chups is a popular Spanish brand of lollipop and other confectionery sold in over 150 countries around the world. The brand was founded in 1958 by Enric Bernat, and is currently owned by the Italian-Dutch multinational corporation Perfetti Van Melle. The name of the brand comes from the Spanish verb chupar, meaning "to suck".

Mozarabic art refers to art of Mozarabs, Iberian Christians living in Al-Andalus, the Muslim conquered territories in the period that comprises from the Arab invasion of the Iberian Peninsula (711) to the end of the 11th century, adopted some Arab customs without converting to Islam, preserving their religion and some ecclesiastical and judicial autonomy. Formerly used for the whole of the Iberian peninsula, the term is now usually restricted, at least in architecture, to the south, with Repoblación art and architecture used for the north.

Costa da Morte "Death Coast" is part of the Galician coast. The Costa da Morte extends from the villages of Muros and Malpica. The Costa da Morte received its name because there have been so many shipwrecks along its treacherous rocky shore. The shore of the Costa da Morte is exposed directly to the Atlantic Ocean. It is an area that has suffered a number of oil spills, including the spill from the Prestige in 2002.

Federico García was a Spanish Republican and anarchist militiaman during the Spanish Civil War, commonly thought to be the subject in the famous Robert Capa photo The Falling Soldier (September 5, 1936). Picture Post, a pioneering photojournalism magazine published in the United Kingdom, had once described then twenty-five year old Capa as "the greatest war photographer in the world."

The Region of Murcia is an autonomous community of Spain located in the southeast of the state, between Andalusia and Valencian Community, on the Mediterranean coast.Despite the famous seaside resorts, the overall region is relatively unknown even within Spain, so it continues to be relatively unspoilt compared to other more overcrowded areas of the Spanish Mediterranean coast.

Joan Sala and Ferrer, also known as Serrallonga, during his lifetime enjoyed great popularity among the Catalan population (like Robin Hood), which linked his person to the fight against foreign (Spanish) power and feudals. When Serrallonga was captured and publicly executed in Barcelona in 1634, his legend gained strength and has been preserved to this day.

The Osborne sherry company erected large images of bulls starting in 1956 to advertise their Brandy de Jerez. In 1994 a law that prohibited all roadside advertising of alcoholic beverages came into being; as a result of the protests, bulls have not been liquidated, have become a part of the landscape and have "aesthetic or cultural significance".
