During the Congo Civil War in 1989, Pygmies were killed and eaten by both sides of the war, who regarded them as subhuman. Sinafasi Makelo, a representative of Mbuti pygmies, asked the UN Security Council to recognize cannibalism as a crime against humanity and an act of genocide.

The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum is a museum in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, chronicling the Cambodian genocide. The site is a former secondary school which was used as Security Prison 21 (S-21) by the Khmer Rouge regime from its rise to power in 1975 to its fall in 1979. From 1976 to 1979, an estimated 20,000 people were imprisoned at Tuol Sleng. Tuol Sleng was just one of at least 150 torture and execution centers established by the Khmer Rouge.

The Holodomor was a man-made famine in the Ukrainian SR in 1932-1933. It was caused mostly by bad economic policies. Many believe that the destruction of the Ukrainian peasantry was premeditated on the part of Joseph Stalin and consider Holodomor a genocide comparable to the Holocaust. Between 2 and 5 million people starved to death despite the fact that Ukrainian lands are among the most fertile in the World.
