Zhytomyr is a city in the north of the western half of Ukraine.The Teteriv river generally forms the southern boundary of Zhytomyr, though there are also some small areas of Zhytomyr city territory below the southern bank of the river. Its northern part is contaminated by the Chernobyl power plant.

The official language of Ukraine is Ukrainian, an East Slavic language which is the native language of 67.5% of Ukraine's population. Russian is the native language of 29.6% of Ukraine's population (mostly urban areas) and the rest (2.9%) are native speakers of other languages.

Optymistychna Cave (Ukrainian meaning "optimistic") is a gypsum cave located near the Ukrainian village of Korolivka. Approximately 230 km of passageways have been mapped within. As a result, it is the longest cave in Eurasia, the fifth-longest cave in the world and the longest gypsum cave in the world.

It is the hryvnia. Interestingly, the 200 hryvnia banknote won the title of the most beautiful banknote of 2013.

Mount Hoverla is the highest mountain in Ukraine and part of the Carpathian Mountains. The mountain is located in the Eastern Beskides, in the Chornohora region.

Duga was a Soviet over-the-horizon radar system used as part of the Soviet anti-ballistic missile early-warning network. The system operated from July 1976 to December 1989. Two operational Duga radars were deployed, one near Chernobyl in the Ukraine and the other in eastern Siberia.

Ukraine borders Russia, Belarus, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Moldova.

Dnieper is the fourth longest river in Europe. The river is one of the symbols of the Ukrainian nation, it splits the country into two regions: Right-Bank Ukraine and Left-Bank Ukraine.

Sea of Azov is a small and shallow sea, sometimes regarded as a northern extension of the Black Sea. Two large rivers, Don and Kuban, flow into it, and so the sea has low salinity and a high amount of biomass (such as green algae) that affects the water colour. It was known in Ottoman Turkish as the Balük-Denis ("Fish Sea") from its high productivity.
