Mantis Boxing is a variation of what martial arts?
Boxing Mantis is a traditional style of kung fu, which was created in the seventeenth century at the turn of the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644) and Qing (1644 - 1912). This style is considered to be imitative, but more in the context of the insect's fighting spirit than its movements. According to the most widespread theories, Wang Lang is considered the creator of the system. The style is characterized by the use of combined hand techniques with simultaneous leg work, fast, effective attack and the use of a range of throws, overthrows, undercuts and steals.
