Muskmelon (Cucumis melo) is a species of melon that has been developed into many cultivated varieties. These include smooth-skinned varieties such as honeydew, Crenshaw, and casaba, and different netted cultivars (cantaloupe, Persian melon, and Santa Claus or Christmas melon). Muskmelon is native to Iran, Anatolia and the Caucasus.

Ogórek melon, czyli po prostu melon. Jest to gatunek ogórka z jadalnym owocem należący do rodziny jednorocznych roślin dyniowatych. Rośnie dziko w Afryce, na dużych obszarach Azji o klimacie tropikalnym i umiarkowanym, w Australii i na niektórych wyspach Pacyfiku. Jest uprawiany w wielu krajach na całym świecie.
