The Kakapo is a species of large, flightless nocturnal parrot. Though the Kakapo cannot fly, it is an excellent climber, ascending to the crowns of the tallest trees. Only about 100 living individuals are known.

Der Kakapo ist ein Papagei, der in Neuseeland beheimatet ist. Er ist der einzige bekannte flugunfähige Papagei. Der Kakapo ist akut vom Aussterben bedroht. Kakapos sind sehr große Papageien; ausgewachsene Männchen messen bis zu 60 Zentimeter und wiegen zwischen drei und vier Kilogramm.
