The maned wolf is the largest canid of South America. It lives in southern Brazil, Paraguay and Bolivia. It stands 90cm tall at the shoulder, which is an adaptation to the tall grassland of its habitat.

Wilk grzywiasty to największy psowaty Ameryki Południowej. Zamieszkuje trawiaste rejony Brazylii, Paragwaj i Boliwię. Jego długie nogi to adaptacja do wysokich traw - dzięki nim osiąga w kłębie wysokość 90cm.

Der Mähnenwolf ist der größte Wildhund Südamerikas. Er ist hochbeinig und schlank wie die großen Wildhunde Eurasiens (Wolf, Rothund) und Afrikas (Afrikanischer Wildhund). Anders als diese ist der Mähnenwolf aber kein Hetzjäger.
