Camponotus ligniperda - this species of ant from Formicinae subfamily is the largest Polish and European ant. There are several so-called castes among these ants. It builds nests in the rotted tree trunks. It shows no aggression towards people, except for extreme situations like nest demage.

Gmachówka drzewotoczna (Camponotus ligniperda) – gatunek mrówki z podrodziny Formicinae. Największa polska i europejska mrówka. Wśród tych mrówek istnieje kilka tak zwanych kast. Buduje gniazda w próchniejących pniach drzew. Wobec człowieka nie wykazuje agresji, poza skrajnymi sytuacjami uszkodzenia gniazda.
