The Springbok is South Africa's national animal. Mostly found in the open grasslands and semi-desert in the western and southern region, the Springbok both grazes and browses. Its population is large, and it is often hunted for its meat and hide.

Skocznik antylopi dawniej nazywany szpringbok (Antidorcas marsupialis) to ssak z rodziny wołowatych. Skoczniki antylopie często wykonują wysokie skoki do 4 m, w praktyce znane jako "pronking" (holenderski: pronken = popisywać się). Obecnie skocznik antylopi jest narodowym zwierzęciem RPA. Pojawia się na emblematach sił powietrznych RPA, na logo kolei RPA oraz jako logo i maskotka wielu zespołów sportowych.
