Kyphosis is the pathological curving of the spine, where parts of the spinal column lose some or all of their lordotic profile. This causes a bowing of the back, seen as a slouching posture. It can be called roundback or Kelso's hunchback.

Częstymi objawami choroby jest „sztywna” deformacja kifotyczna kręgosłupa (a co za tym idzie tworzenie się okrągłych pleców) i tępy ból w jej okolicy oraz uczucie zmęczenia.

Als eine Kyphose wird in der Fachsprache beim Menschen eine nach hinten (dorsal) konvexe Krümmung der Wirbelsäule bezeichnet. Natürlicherweise kommt Kyphose im Brustbereich (Brustkyphose) vor und am Ende der Wirbelsäule noch als eine kleine Kyphose, die sogenannte Sakralkyphose.
