The Boston Tea Party was an act of sabotage against the British fiscal policy that favoured East India Company over American companies. On the night of December 16, 1773, Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty boarded three ships in the Boston harbour disguised as Mohawks, and threw 342 chests of tea overboard. Today the tea destroyed would be valued at over $1m. The actions eventually led to the American Revolution.
