Which institution awards the Pulitzer prize?
Columbia University. Newspaper publisher Joseph Pulitzer gave money in his will to Columbia University to launch a journalism school and establish the Prize. The prizes are given annually to award achievements in journalism and photography, as well as literature and history, poetry, music and drama. The first Pulitzer Prizes were awarded in 1917.

In Salamanca. The University of Salamanca was founded in 1134 and given the Royal charter of foundation by King Alfonso IX in 1218. It is the oldest university in Spain and the third oldest in the world in continuous operations.
