King Solomon. The House of Solomon was the former Imperial House of Ethiopia. Its members claim lineal descent from Solomon of Israel and the Queen of Sheba, the latter of whom tradition asserts gave birth to Menelik I after her Biblically described visit to Solomon in Jerusalem. These claims of Solomonic descent make the Ethiopian royal house among the two oldest in the world (the other being the Imperial Dynasty of Japan)

7. The symbolic menorah has 7 lamps, but the commonly used Hanukkah menorah (pictured) has nine lamps, and no seven-lamps menorahs are made. This is because the menorah is described in the Bible as the seven-lamp lampstand made of gold, used in the portable sanctuary set up by Moses in the wilderness and later in the Temple in Jerusalem. The Talmud states that it is prohibited to use a seven-lamp menorah outside of the Temple.

The Books. English word Bible comes from Latin biblia sacra "holy books". The plural "biblia" was often improperly interpreted as singular feminine, hence the old Anglo-Latin singular "biblia". The root "biblia" is shared with words such as bibliographer or bibliophilia, unrelated to the Bible.

About one thousand. Just like many other ancient rulers, Solomon had a numerous harem. According to the Bible, it counted about 700 wives of noble blood (including a pharaoh's daughter), plus 300 secondary wives and concubines.

Canaan. The Curse of Ham is the curse upon Canaan, Ham's son, that was imposed by the biblical patriarch Noah. The curse occurs in the Book of Genesis and concerns Noah's drunkenness and the accompanying shameful act perpetrated by his son Ham, the father of Canaan.

The number of wise men is not specified. Wise Men from the East appear in the Gospel of Saint Matthew. The Gospel does not give them numbers or names. However, it was customary to determine their number to 3: Casper, Melchior and Balthasar.

The feeding of the five thousand. The miracles of Jesus are the supernatural deeds attributed to Jesus in Christian and Islamic texts. All Gospels tell us the same story, but from different viewpoints however, not every miracle is mentioned in each Gospel. The feeding of the five thousand is one of the few reported in all four Gospels.
