In Greek mythology, the Hesperides are the nymphs of evening and golden light of sunset, who were the "Daughters of the Evening" or "Nymphs of the West". The Hesperides guarded a miracle tree with golden apples in a beautiful garden, which Gaia of Hera used to grow her wedding to Zeus. The apples gave the gods eternal youth.

In Ancient Greek myths, Aphrodite was born and risen from the sea, created from parts of Ouranos when the Titans overthrew him. She is the goddess of love and beauty, and has a son named Eros.
